La Petite Nellie Kelly (1940)
Nelly et Jerry s'aiment, bien que le père de Nelly ne supporte pas cette relation. Afin d'échapper à la pesanteur du père, les deux tourtereaux partent s'installer à New York. Mais en mettant au monde une joile petite fille, Nelly décède... Des années plus tard, alors que les traits de la jeune fille prennent de plus en plus ceux de sa défunte mère, les relations entre Jerry et le père de Nelly demeurent toujours houleuses.
