Jane et George forment un couple très uni et amoureux. George souhaite concrétiser leur union mais Jane, déçue par un premier mariage désastreux, refuse de convoler de nouveau et se dérobe. Très inquiet, George décide de se rendre chez elle. Sur la route, il est victime d'un terrible accident de voiture qui le projette... dix ans plus tôt ! Parviendra-t-il à faire échouer le premier mariage de Jane et à la reconquérir ?
