Mobile, Alabama... Any Post mène une vie pas très catholique, entre débrouille, entourloupe et prostitution. Alors qu'elle est sur le point de se faire arrêter par la police, Elmor Prat, ancien boxeur et aventurier au grand cœur, vole à son secours en mettant K.O. le flic qui l'avait interpellée. Tous deux dans de sales draps, Amy et Elmor se font la belle, avec pour prochaine destination la Californie. Un long chemin où aventures et gags vont se succéder à un rythme d'enfer...
