Sous pression politique, la CIA recrute son premier agent noir : Dan Freeman. Préposé à la photocopieuse pendant des années, il retourne à Chicago, sa ville natale, et utilise ses connaissances d’espion pour entraîner une armée au service de la lutte afro-américaine.
