The Outsider : L'Étranger (2002)
Ben et Rebecca, un couple de mormons, vivent dans une ferme isolée du Montana. Un jour, Ben reçoit la visite de Fergus Hunter, un cow-boy qui lui demande de lui céder ses terres. Mais Ben refuse et Hunter le fait pendre. Un an plus tard, Rebecca a repris l'exploitation de son mari et s'occupe courageusement de l'élevage. Un jour, elle aperçoit un homme blessé qui s'approche de la ferme. Elle l'emmène chez un médecin, qui constate que l'homme est probablement un hors-la-loi, car il porte des marques qui indiquent qu'il a été enchaîné et fouetté. Rebecca décide néanmoins de l'accueillir chez elle.
