John Noble est un acteur australien né le 20 août 1948 à Port Pirie (Australie-Méridionale). Acteur de films et de séries, John Noble a aussi mis en scène plus de 80 pièces de théâtre. Principalement connu pour son rôle de Denethor dans le film Le Seigneur des anneaux : Le Retour du roi, il fait aussi occasionnellement des apparitions dans des séries télévisées. Il interprète également le docteur Walter Bishop dans la série Fringe de J. J. Abrams, un scientifique sorti d'un hôpital psychiatrique. Il vit aux États-Unis avec sa femme Penny Noble avec qui il a eu trois enfants : Samantha qui est actrice, Jess, journaliste, et Daniel "Dan", entrepreneur.
