Le Raid (1954)
En septembre 1864, quelques mois avant la fin de la guerre de Sécession. Un groupe de Sudistes, mené par le major Neal Benton, s'évade de la prison nordiste de Plattsburg. L'un d'eux, le capitaine Henderson, est tué. Les fuyards, qui ne rêvent que de vengeance, décident de mettre à sac puis d'incendier la petite ville nordiste de Saint Albans, en s'emparant au passage de ses réserves d'or. Benton se fait passer pour un Canadien et prend pension chez Katy Bishop, une jeune veuve. Au fur et à mesure que s'organise l'attaque de la banque, la tension monte entre les hommes…
