Père célibataire et ancien marine, Kyle Snowden, souffre de stress post-traumatique. Il a bien du mal à se réadapter à la vie. Bientôt, Kyle se retrouve, avec un groupe de clients innocents, piégé dans le magasin de son beau-père lors d'une prise d'otage par un militant, Eagan Raize. Des détails troublants émergent sur la violente vendetta d'Eagan contre le beau-père de Kyle, le député Sam Nelson, menaçant la vie de toutes les personnes présentes, y compris le député et la jeune fille de Kyle.
