Michael Jai White (né le 10 novembre 1967) est un acteur américain et artiste martial professionnel qui est apparu dans de nombreux films et séries télévisées. Il est le premier Afro-américain à représenter un super héros de bande dessinée dans un film majeur, ayant joué le rôle principal dans Al Simmons, le protagoniste du film Spawn de 1997. White est né à Brooklyn, New York et a déménagé à Bridgeport, Connecticut, où il a été diplômé de Central High School en 1988. Blanc a commencé l'entraînement d'arts martiaux à l'âge de sept ans et est maintenant un artiste martial accompli, titulaire de sept noirs légitimes des ceintures au Shotokan, au Tae Kwon Do, au Kobudo, au Goju Ryu, au Tang Soo Do, au Wushu et au Kyokushin, avec un accent particulier sur Kyokushin (bien que son style incorpore des aspects de nombreuses formes d'arts martiaux). Son premier rôle principal et performance breakout était dans le film HBO 1995 Tyson, en tant que boxeur poids lourd Mike Tyson. En 1997, il a interprété le personnage éponyme dans le film Spawn de 1997. Son travail à Spawn lui a valu une nomination pour le Blockbuster Entertainment Award du meilleur nouvel arrivant. Blanc a joué face à Jean-Claude Van Damme dans Universal Soldier: The Return. En 2001, il a également joué le rôle opposé à l'artiste martial Steven Seagal dans Exit Wounds. En 2003, il a joué dans la vidéo de musique de Busta Rhymes et Mariah Carey "Je sais ce que vous voulez". Depuis 2003, en plus de ses rôles à l'écran, White a fait du travail vocal, y compris Static Shock, Justice League, et la série animée Spawn. White met en valeur ses compétences en arts martiaux dans le film Undisputed II: Last Man Standing. Il apparaît également dans Silver Hawk de Michelle Yeoh en 2004. Son film, Why Did I Get Married? ouvert le 12 octobre 2007 au numéro un du box-office. White a joué le rôle du chef de la mafia Gambol dans le film The Dark Knight. Il a également joué dans le film Blood and Bone et dans Black Dynamite, un hommage à Blaxploitation, tous les deux sortis en 2009. White a écrit les scénarios de Black Dynamite et de ses 3 Bullets à venir avec Bokeem Woodbine. White fera ses débuts de réalisateur et sa vedette dans Never Back Down 2, qui devrait sortir en 2011. En août 2005, il épouse sa petite amie de deux ans, Courtenay Chatman. Le couple a une fille nommée Morgan Michelle qui est née le 24 décembre 2008. Michael a deux fils d'une relation précédente. Il est un joueur d'échecs avide, comme on le voit dans son film Blood and Bone.
