Célibataire depuis peu, Jesse, 35 ans est en pleine crise existentielle, persuadé que la meilleure partie de sa vie est derrière lui. Lorsqu'un de ses anciens professeurs reprend contact, Jesse saute sur l'occasion, désireux de renouer avec le passé. Sa rencontre avec Zibby va alors tout bousculer.
