Catherine Blanchett, dite Cate Blanchett, née le 14 mai 1969 à Melbourne est une actrice australienne de renommée internationale, également codirectrice du Sydney Theatre Company. Ayant bénéficié de nombreuses récompenses et nominations (sept nominations aux Oscars et aux BAFTA, neuf aux Golden Globe, la Coupe Volpi de la meilleure actrice à la Mostra de Venise) pour des rôles très divers, elle est considérée par de nombreux critiques comme l'une des meilleures actrices de sa génération. Elle a reçu l'Oscar du meilleur second rôle féminin en 2005 pour le rôle de Katharine Hepburn dans Aviator de Martin Scorsese. Après deux nominations pour son interprétation d'Elisabeth I dans Elizabeth et Elizabeth : L'Âge d'or de Shekhar Kapur, elle a reçu l'Oscar de la meilleure actrice en 2014 grâce à sa prestation de femme riche sombrant dans la pauvreté et la folie dans Blue Jasmine de Woody Allen.
