Brian Russell De Palma est un réalisateur et scénariste américain. Au cours de sa carrière de plus de quarante ans, il est probablement surtout connu pour ses films à suspense et ses thrillers policiers. De Palma était l'un des principaux membres de la génération des réalisateurs du Nouvel Hollywood. Sa mise en scène utilise souvent des citations d'autres films ou styles cinématographiques et porte l'influence de cinéastes tels qu'Alfred Hitchcock, Jean-Luc Godard et Michelangelo Antonioni.
