Aidan Gillen est un acteur irlandais né le 24 avril 1968 à Dublin. Adolescent, il commence sa carrière théâtrale à Dublin Youth Theatre avant de s'installer à Londres. Il adopte le nom de famille de sa mère, Gillen, pour des raisons professionnelles. Il a une sœur actrice, un frère dramaturge et une autre sœur institutrice. En 2001, il épouse Olivia O'Flanagan et ils ont une fille et un fils, mais ils divorcent en 2014. Il est actuellement en couple avec Camille O'Sullivan.
