L'agente segreto Alex McGregor viene incaricata di proteggere Jess, la giovane figlia del presidente statunitense Hayes, durante un tour di rafting in Colorado guidato dall'affascinante Grant. Tutto procede per il meglio fino a quando il gruppo non viene intercettato da alcuni fanatici terroristi che, scoperta la presenza di Jess, la rapiscono per chiedere la liberazione del loro leader. Ma i criminali dovranno fare i conti con Alex e con Grant; la prima, veterana del servizio, conosce perfettamente il codice che regola casi del genere: niente concessioni, niente trattative, e l'ipotesi di un fallimento non viene neppure presa in considerazione.
