Sul lago dorato (1981)
Vicini alle nozze d'oro, i coniugi Thayer ospitano nel loro cottage estivo su un lago del New Hampshire la figlia col nuovo fidanzato che porta con sé il figlio, un tredicenne irrispettoso. Lasciato solo con i due vecchi, il ragazzino si fa conquistare. Scene di un vecchio matrimonio senza risparmio di commozione. Potrebbe essere un film di Bergman in vena sentimentale, riveduto da Marino Moretti e corretto da Carlo Cassola. Per gli spettatori di pelo grigio è, nella sua commistione di realtà e finzione, un film intrigante: come non pensare che i dialoghi tra Norman Thayer e la figlia Chelsea potrebbero corrispondere ai veri rapporti tra Henry e Jane Fonda? Come non vedere dietro il burbero Fonda l'ombra di Spencer Tracy e che l'irosa sopportazione della decadenza senile potrebbe coincidere (ma non in Italia) con quella dei due attori?
