Rental Family - Nelle vite degli altri (2025)
Philip Vandarpleog è un attore americano che vive da otto anni a Tokyo, in Giappone, che considera ormai casa propria. Un tempo celebre perché interpretava un grosso tubetto di dentifricio, supereroe di una pubblicità popolarissima, adesso passa da un’audizione all’altra, mentre il suo agente lo manda a fare la comparsa in eventi come matrimoni e funerali. Ed è proprio a un finto funerale che Philip incontra Shinji, il capo di Rental Family, un’agenzia che procura attori per impersonare parenti e amici che non esistono, e lo scrittura: Philip diventa un giornalista amico di un anziano attore, il padre assente di una bambina sino-americana, il compagno di giochi di un appassionato di videogame.
