Il fondamentalista riluttante (2013)
Lahore, Pakistan 2010. Le manifestazioni che vedono coinvolti studenti fondamentalisti islamici sono in aumento. Al loro centro sta il giovane professore Changez Khan. Il sequestro di un suo collega americano fa precipitare la situazione. È proprio in questo momento delicato che Khan accetta di farsi intervistare dal giornalista americano Bobby Lincoln al quale decide di raccontare la propria vita di giovane professionista rampante nel campo della finanza, cooptato dal capo di un grosso studio newyorchese che ne individua le notevoli capacità. Nell'ambiente della upper class Changez sembra aver anche trovato l'amore nell'artista fotografica Erica. Tutto va bene per lui quindi fino a quando l'11 settembre 2001 cambia di colpo le prospettive. La sua vita comincia a mutare di segno: è diventato improvvisamente l'islamico da amare od odiare, non più una persona.
