Liev Schreiber (nato il 4 ottobre 1967 a San Francisco, California) è un attore, regista, sceneggiatore e produttore statunitense. Dopo aver studiato al Dartmouth College e alla Yale School of Drama, inizia la carriera principalmente a teatro, distinguendosi anche nelle opere di William Shakespeare. Debutta al cinema nei primi anni Novanta e ottiene ruoli sempre più importanti in film come Scream (1996), Ransom - Il riscatto (1996), Sfera (1998) e Il prezzo della libertà (1998). Nel 2000 interpreta il protagonista del film Hamlet, che dirige e nel quale recita, mentre continua a lavorare in produzioni di grande rilievo. Nel 2004 interpreta Raymond Shaw nel thriller The Manchurian Candidate e l'anno successivo dirige Ogni cosa è illuminata, tratto dal romanzo di Jonathan Safran Foer. Tra le sue interpretazioni più apprezzate figurano inoltre X-Men le origini - Wolverine (2009), nel quale veste i panni di Victor Creed/Sabretooth, e Salt (2010), accanto ad Angelina Jolie. Nel 2013 ottiene uno dei suoi ruoli più celebri con la serie televisiva Ray Donovan, nella quale interpreta il protagonista per sette stagioni. La sua interpretazione gli vale numerose candidature ai Primetime Emmy. Nel 2015 recita nel pluripremiato Il caso Spotlight, interpretando il giornalista Marty Baron, mentre negli anni successivi prende parte a film come Creed, Spider-Man: Un nuovo universo, Isle of Dogs e Asteroid City. Parallelamente continua a dedicarsi al teatro e al doppiaggio, oltre a lavorare come produttore e narratore. Tra i suoi progetti più recenti figurano A Small Light (2023), Golda (2023) e la serie Nocturne, nella quale è coinvolto come produttore esecutivo. Nel 2026 continua inoltre a lavorare tra cinema e televisione.
