Promised Land (2012)
Steve Butler, con un passato trascorso in campagna, è ora un agente in carriera di una grossa compagnia, la Global, che lo invia insieme a una collega a McKinley, una cittadina rurale. Il loro compito consiste nel convincere gli abitanti a cedere i loro terreni perché vi possano avvenire trivellazioni allo scopo di ricavarne gas naturale. Si prevede che, stretti dalla morsa della crisi, molti non avranno difficoltà a cedere le loro proprietà ma il compito si presenta invece meno semplice di quanto prospettato. Anche perché entra in gioco Dustin Noble, un attivista ambientale apparentemente intenzionato a impedire il successo della compagnia per cui Butler lavora.
