Bowling a Columbine (2002)
Il film è dedicato al tema dell'uso delle armi in America, facendo riferimento alle stragi nelle scuole americane, in particolare al massacro della Columbine High School, vicino a Denver e Littleton, nel Colorado, nella quale due ragazzi armati di fucile entrarono nella loro scuola dove uccisero 12 studenti e un insegnante per poi suicidarsi. La realizzazione del documentario ha portato l'autore in giro per gli Stati Uniti, fino alla finale intervista all'ex-attore Charlton Heston, presidente della National Rifle Association (letteralmente Associazione Nazionale dei Fucili in inglese). Spostatosi in Canada per approfondire il tema dell'uso delle armi, Moore giunge alla conclusione che non è l'arma in sé a creare il crimine, ma la paura del crimine stesso che negli Stati Uniti, attraverso i suoi mezzi d'informazione e l'uso politico delle differenze sociali, porta chiunque a diffidare del prossimo, trascinando questi contrasti a forme di difesa personale eccessiva.
