Joe (2014)
Gary Jones ha quindici anni e un padre alcolista che "picchia duro". Costretto a cambiare paese con la madre e la sorella per le intemperanze del genitore, il ragazzo arriva in una cittadina del Texas deciso a trovare lavoro e a proteggere la parte sana della sua famiglia. Assoldato da Joe Ransom, un uomo generoso coi deboli e aggressivo con gli arroganti, Gary trova pace e consiglio al suo fianco. Ex detenuto col vizio della birra e delle belle signore, Joe è noto alla polizia e inviso a un vecchio rivale che non smette di provocarlo rivelandone la natura collerica. Natura che sembra acquietarsi davanti allo sguardo azzurro e pulito di Gary, che non smette di provarci e di sognare un futuro migliore. Accomunati dallo stesso cuore, crescono insieme, tra abeti "avvelenati" e dentro un pick-up. Ma il mondo fuori non smette di tormentarli e di chiedere loro il conto.
