Il rapporto Pelican (1993)
Darby Shaw, che si sta per laureare in giurisprudenza, si mette a studiare un caso: la morte, avvenuta la stessa notte, di due giudici della Corte suprema e formula un'ipotesi inquietante. Il suo docente, nonché amante, con cui si è confidata, viene anch'egli ucciso; un giornalista di colore l'aiuta a sfuggire ai molti che vogliono farle la pelle. Le sue teorie si rivelano esatte e spingono i mandanti degli assassini a ordinare l'eliminazione della donna. Gli assassini non le danno tregua.
