Mack è a capo di una pattuglia di mercenari operativa in un’area desertica del Medioriente. Riceve l’ordine di accompagnare la Dottoressa Elissa Cardell alla ricerca del padre, il Dottor Wesley, che si trova in una base sotterranea dalla quale però sarà l’unico autorizzato ad uscire. I soldati la raggiungono e, di lì a poco, cominciano gli incontri con coloro che erano stati inviati a studiare ciò che era stato trovato nelle viscere del deserto. Tra loro non c’erano solo scienziati ma anche teologi. Ora si sono trasformati in mostri. Nella base inoltre ognuno dei mercenari vede riemergere fisicamente persone che abitavano nel suo subconscio. L’inferno li attende.
