Bisognoso di fondi per continuare la sua eterna ricerca volta alla creazione di una pelle sintetica stabile e duratura, Darkman/Westlake si rivolge per un finanziamento a Peter Rooker, un facoltoso magnate che però ha costruito la sua fortuna attraverso un gigantesco traffico di stupefacenti. Affiancato dalla dottoressa Bridget Thorne, una dei chirurghi che lo curarono dopo l'incidente che lo deturpò, e che sostiene di essere in grado di restituirgli la perduta sensibilità riallacciando le terminazioni nervose recise, Darkman deve opporsi al re della droga che l'ha sovvenzionato e che ora vuole a tutti i costi impadronirsi della tecnologia sperimentale messa a punto dallo scienziato.
