Thongs è un incallito giocatore d'azzardo che si accompagna al fedele compare Octopus, fannullone, maritato e donnaiolo. Thongs e Octopus, perseguitati dai creditori, condividono lo stesso appartamento e lo stesso avido padrone di casa, che li ha iniziati al furto e allo scasso. Con la promessa di un generoso compenso, trenta milioni di dollari, vengono assoldati per rapire il bambino di una famiglia facoltosa. Superate le difficoltà della gestione dell'infante, Thongs e compagno finiscono per affezionarsene e per svezzarlo con l'aiuto di Melody, una dolce ed esperta bambinaia. Polizia e gangster reclamano il bambino, sarà l'inizio di una rocambolesca fuga che correggerà la vita dei protagonisti, ravvedendoli definitivamente. Rientrato in oriente e archiviati, almeno per il momento, Hollywood e i suoi studios, Jackie Chan interpreta a colpi di kung-fu una commedia d'azione e melò del regista omonimo Benny Chan.
