Il grande campione (1949)
Midge (Douglas) fa il cameriere in un piccolo bar e diventa l'amante della figlia del proprietario. Costretto a sposarla, l'abbandona subito e si reca in città, dove un allenatore di pugilato gli offre un contratto. Farà molta strada, ma il suo smisurato orgoglio, il suo egoismo e la sua mancanza di scrupoli gli saranno fatali sul piano umano.
