Bella giornalista della tv vuol sposarsi e spostarsi da Chicago a New York. Ma il suo capo non le permette di fare né una cosa né l'altra alla vigilia di un probabile scoop giornalistico (l'esecuzione di un poveraccio condannato ingiustamente).
