Christopher D'Olier Reeve (25 settembre 1952 – 10 ottobre 2004) è stato un attore, regista, produttore, sceneggiatore e autore americano. Raggiunse la fama per i suoi successi come attore, incluso il suo noto ruolo cinematografico del supereroe immaginario Superman. Il 27 maggio 1995, Reeve divenne tetraplegico dopo essere stato scaraventato da un cavallo in una competizione equestre in Virginia. Ha avuto bisogno di una sedia a rotelle e di apparecchiature respiratorie per il resto della sua vita. Fece pressione a favore delle persone con lesioni del midollo spinale e successivamente per la ricerca sulle cellule staminali embrionali umane. Ha fondato la Christopher Reeve Foundation e co-fondato il Reeve-Irvine Research Center. Reeve sposò Dana Morosini nell'aprile 1992 e ebbero un figlio, William, nato nello stesso giugno. Reeve ebbe due figli, Matthew (nato nel 1979) e Alexandra (nata nel 1983), dalla sua precedente relazione con la sua fidanzata di lunga data, Gae Exton.
