Il kimono scarlatto (1959)
Una spogliarellista viene assassinata e nel corso delle indagini due poliziotti - Charlie Bancroft, bianco, e Joe Kojaku, nippo-americano - conoscono una giovane pittrice, innamorandosi entrambi di lei. Ma Joe, pur essendo ricambiato, ritiene inizialmente di non poter tradire l'amico e compagno di lavoro. Poi crede di essere oggetto del suo razzismo e reagisce duramente.
