Gemma Bovery (2014)
Da sette anni Martin Joubert ha lasciato Parigi per la provincia dove è convinto di aver trovato equilibrio e tranquillità. Panettiere nella panetteria paterna, Martin ha una grande passione per la letteratura, Gustave Flaubert su tutti. Sereno fino alla noia, Martin impasta e ascolta France Culture, che 'legge' "Madame Bovary", il suo romanzo preferito. Tra il pane sfornato e una pagina sfogliata, il panettiere bobo ancora non sa che la vita può avere più fantasia della finzione. Di fatto, una coppia di inglesi si trasferisce in Normandia nella casa adiacente alla sua, lei si chiama Gemma Bovery, lui Charles Bovery. Sorpreso ed eccitato da quella coincidenza, Martin diventa assiduo frequentatore dei coniugi ma soprattutto fanatico ammiratore di Gemma che, bella e insoddisfatta, incarna l'eroina dei suoi sogni. Deciso a sapere di più di quella creatura precipitata dalle pagine di Flaubert, Martin ne spierà ogni respiro, disponendone il destino.
