La campana ha suonato (1954)
A Silver Lode, Dan Ballard viene arrestato poco prima delle nozze dello sceriffo federale Ned McCarthy, con l'accusa di averne ucciso il fratello. Con l'aiuto della fidanzata e di un ex amante, Ballard tenta di dimostrare che Ned non è un vero sceriffo e che vuole espropiarlo dei suoi beni, ma si troverà contro l'intera cittadina. La resa dei conti avverrà in una chiesa.
