55 giorni a Pechino (1963)
Le ambasciate straniere a Pechino sono chiuse in una morsa di terrore dai Boxer che massacrano i cristiani in una febbre nazionalista anti-cristiana. Il maggiore Matt Lewis, della Marina degli Stati Uniti, capo di un esercito multinazionale di soldati e marines, difende il quartiere straniero a Pechino. All'interno del complesso assediato, l'ambasciatore britannico raggruppa gli ambasciatori assediati in una formazione difensiva. Nel gruppo di dignitari di alto livello è la sensuale baronessa russa Natalie Ivanoff, che inizia una relazione romantica con Lewis. Lewis e il gruppo cercano di razionare cibo e acqua per cercare di salvare alcuni bambini affamati, in attesa dell'arrivo dei rinforzi, ma l'astuta imperatrice Tzu Hsi sta, nel frattempo, complottando con i Boxer di rompere l'assedio con l'aiuto delle truppe cinesi. Alla fine però le forze dell'alleanza delle otto nazioni riescono a rompere l'assedio ed a sedare la rivolta, un evento che preannunciava la fine della dinastia Qing.
