Pitch Black (2000)
In un futuro non molto distante nel tempo, il pilota di navi spaziali Fry è costretta a tentare un atterraggio di fortuna su un pianeta lontano. Nel corso della collisione l'equipaggio dell'astronave pilotata da Fry resta ucciso e, a parte lei, solo alcuni passeggeri riescono a evitare la morte. Il cacciatore di taglie Johns è rimasto illeso e altrettanto il suo prigioniero, il pericoloso omicida Riddick. Mentre esplorano il pianeta, immersi in un caldo insopportabile, i superstiti sono costretti a restare insieme per sopravvivere. Il pianeta è lugubre, arido e senza vita, ma, non appena il sole tramonta, viene immerso nella totale oscurità e i suoi altri abitanti escono in superficie...
