L'etologo Hank si è ritirato in Africa a studiare i felini e vive in una casa nella foresta in perfetta armonia con fiere di varie dimensioni. L'arrivo dall'America della sua famiglia, che ignora la situazione, crea inizialmente non pochi problemi di adattamento sia agli uomini che alle belve, peraltro animate da intenzioni tutt'altro che bellicose.
