La confessione (1999)
Roy Bleakie è un giovane e brillante avvocato in lizza per la nomina a procuratore distrettuale. Si tratta di un cinico disposto a tutto per la carriera, sino a quando incontra Harry Fertig, reo confesso di tre omicidi. L'uomo ha ucciso tre medici e paramedici che con la loro incuria avevano provocato la morte del figlioletto. Ma Fertig è anche colui che custodisce i segreti finanziari di Renoble, affarista e grande protettore di Roy che ha tutto l'interesse a far prosciogliere l'omicida. Stretto tra il rigido fondamentalismo ebraico di Fertig, che pur non pentendosi del suo atto vuole espiare, e l'ordine di Renoble di farlo rilasciare per incapacità di intendere e di volere, Roy si trova a fare i conti con una morale che per troppo tempo aveva dimenticato.
