The Birth of a Nation - Il risveglio di un popolo (2016)
Nel 1831 nel sud degli Stati Uniti, prima dello scoppio della Guerra civile, il nero Nat è uno schiavo letterato e predicatore. Il suo proprietario Samuel Turner accetta la proposta di usare la predicazione di Nat per sottomettere gli schiavi più indisciplinati. Dopo essere stato testimone delle innumerevoli atrocità commesse ai danni dei compagni di schiavitù, Nat escogita un piano per condurre la sua gente verso la libertà. Il suo movimento di liberazione andrà però incontro a una violenta rappresaglia da parte dei bianchi.
