Base Luna chiama Terra (1964)
Il primo volo sulla Luna organizzato dalla Nasa è coronato dal successo, ma i tre astronauti che compongono l'equipaggio, una volta usciti in perlustrazione sulla superficie lunare hanno la sorpresa di scoprire una bandiera inglese ed un manoscritto che testimonia, già alla fine dell'800, un precedente arrivo dell'uomo. Tornati sulla Terra, gli astronauti verificano l'autenticità del documento e rintracciano in una casa di riposo uno dei cosmonauti che effettuarono lo storico primo allunaggio. L'anziano signore ricorda la straordinaria avventura voluta dal professor Cavor (inventore della materia antigravitazionale denominata "cavorite") che lo ha coinvolto insieme con la fidanzata, e rievoca le fasi del volo, la scoperta di vita intelligente all'interno delle cavità lunari, l'incontro con i seleniti e con indefinibili creature mostruose.
