Omicidio al neon per l'ispettore Tibbs (1970)

Una prostituta è stata assassinata. Una voce anonima telefona alla polizia accusando dell'omicidio padre Logan, un sacerdote molto noto nel quartiere. L'ispettore Tibbs, amico del sacerdote, si incarica delle indagini. Alcuni elementi fanno sospettare proprio di padre Logan, ma nessuno in modo decisivo. Pertanto Tibbs archivia il caso anche perché si scopre l'anonimo telefonista. Ma una prostituta amica della vittima mette Tibbs sulle tracce dell'assassino. Un poliziesco crudo e convincente per Sidney Poitier che ritorna, dopo il clamoroso successo della "Calda notte dell'ispettore Tibbs", nei panni dell'investigatore.
