Sidney Poitier KBE (20 febbraio 1927 – 6 gennaio 2022) è stato un attore, regista e diplomatico delle Bahamas e statunitense. Nel 1964 è stato il primo attore nero e il primo delle Bahamas a vincere l'Oscar come miglior attore. Ha ricevuto due Golden Globe Awards, un BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award) e un Grammy Award per il miglior album di spoken word. Poitier è stata una delle ultime grandi star dell'età d'oro del cinema hollywoodiano.
