Stanley è un troll, una creatura fantastica che ha trascorso tutta la sua vita nella foresta, suo regno incontrastato. Una regina cattiva, che lo ha sempre ostacolato, decide di esiliarlo in un mondo grigio e senza fiori: la città di New York. Inizialmente spaesato, Stanley cerca un posto ideale per sfuggire al caos metropolitano. Alla fine trova pace e tranquillità all'interno del grande polmone verde della Grande Mela: Central Park.
