Todd Boomer è uno studente universitario che aspira a entrare all'università. Le sue possibilità sembrano scarse quando il suo insegnante di matematica lo boccia in ogni verifica. L'aiuto arriva sotto forma della splendida Vicki, una geniale matematica che decide di dare ripetizioni a Todd. Man mano che la loro relazione si sviluppa, Todd si ritrova coinvolto in una relazione con Vicki, ignaro del fatto che lei sia sposata con il suo insegnante di matematica.
