Il regno di Ga'Hoole - La leggenda dei guardiani (2010)

In un mondo fantastico non ben precisato (che per quanto ne sappiamo potrebbe anche essere il nostro) i gufi vivono in un regime di caste, basato sulle diverse razze tra le quali il barbagianni è la più considerata. Leggenda vuole che esistano anche due diversi schieramenti, da una parte i malvagi gufi dell'Abbazia di Sant'Egolio e dall'altra i gufi guardiani del Regno di Ga'Hoole, i quali vivono nel mitologico Grande Albero. Su questi presupposti si inserisce la storia di Soren e Kludd, fratelli caduti dal nido che, loro malgrado, scopriranno come le leggende siano realtà e finiranno ben presto arruolati su fronti opposti. Dopo essere stati catturati e finiti nell'Abbazia di Sant'Egolio il primo, idealista e sognatore, scapperà con altri in cerca del regno di Ga'Hoole, il secondo, cinico e opportunista, rimarrà a dare manforte ai Puri, convinto di essere anch'egli appartenente alla razza eletta.
