3 donne (1977)
Millie (Duvall) e Pinky (Spacek) lavorano come infermiere in un centro per anziani in California. Willie (Rule) è la moglie di Edgar, il padrone del saloon, e non ha altro da fare se non dilettarsi in decorazioni d'interni e di fondi di piscine. Pinky adora Millie, ma quando scopre che questa ha una relazione con Edgar, l'incanto finisce. Dopo capovolgimenti, liti e, soprattutto, dopo la morte misteriosa di Edgar, le tre donne vanno a vivere insieme. E' un film dell'epoca d'oro di Altman con un uso superlativo del sonoro (per la verità mortificato dalla versione italiana) e con una strepitosa Duvall (premiata a Cannes).
