Shaft il detective (1971)
John Shaft, un nero investigatore privato ad Harlem, è inviso, per la sua stessa attività, agli ambienti criminali del quartiere e agli estremisti di colore, che hanno scelto la strada della violenza per far valere i propri diritti di fronte ai bianchi. Guardato con sospetto dalla stessa polizia, egli gode tuttavia di una certa protezione da parte del tenente Androzzi. Incaricato dal capo della mafia nera Bumpy Jonas di rintracciargli la figlia misteriosamente scomparsa, Shaft inizia le indagini su Ben "Lumumba", capo del movimento estremista delle Pantere Nere. Risultato "Lumumba" estraneo al rapimento, Shaft, d'intesa con Bumpy Jonas, decide di servirsi del capo estremista per affrontare i veri rapitori, individuati in una banda di mafiosi bianchi.
