Durante la 2ª guerra mondiale tre aviatori in licenza a San Francisco si danno alla pazza gioia. Commedia scorrevole che, pur con un conformismo di fondo pronto a correggere le punte satiriche con risvolti patriottici, affronta temi e stati d'animo con spregiudicatezza briosa. Dal romanzo di Frederick Wakeman che servì da base per il musical Hit the Deck.
