La luna e sei soldi (1942)
Un agente di borsa londinese lascia moglie, figli e lavoro per andare a Parigi a realizzare il sogno della sua vita: dipingere. Qui riesce a mettersi nei guai e allora fugge di nuovo. Arriva a Tahiti dove morirà di lebbra, assistito da una indigena da cui si fa promettere di bruciare le sue tele. La storia è più meno quella di Gauguin, come la racconta Somerset Maughan nel libro omonimo. Sanders è assolutamente inarrivabile.
