Young Adult (2011)
Incapace di sviluppare relazioni mature, ancorata al suo status di reginetta del liceo della provincia in cui è cresciuta, incastrata in dinamiche affettive adolescenziali ma afflitta da problematiche adulte come l'alcolismo, Mavis Gray è la ghost writer di una serie di libri per adolescenti dal grande successo ma dalla fine imminente. L'arrivo della convocazione per il battesimo del figlio del suo ex fidanzato del liceo, scatena in lei l'idea che potrà tornare nel paese di provincia da cui è fuggita (lei che era la più bella della scuola) per riprenderselo e tirarlo fuori da quella che è sicura essere una vita da incubo.
