Il greco Theo Thomasis è diventato, dal nulla, uno dei maggiori capitalisti mondiali, proprietario di flotte e compagnie aeree. Tutto iniziò da un giuramento fatto quando il padre fu impiccato dai Turchi. Anche i suoi amori sono stati avventurosi ed eccezionali. Da ultimo, Theo sposa la vedova di un presidente americano caduto sotto il fuoco di un attentatore. Il loro matrimonio è tempestoso, ma sorretto da vero amore. Sarà solo il dolore per la morte prematura del figlio Niko ad avere ragione dell'indomito magnate.
