Songcatcher (2001)
Dopo che le è stata negata una promozione all'università dove insegna, la dottoressa Lily Penleric, una brillante musicologa, fa visita impulsivamente a sua sorella, che gestisce una scuola rurale in difficoltà negli Appalachi. Lì si imbatte nella scoperta della sua vita: un tesoro di antiche ballate scozzesi-irlandesi, canzoni tramandate di generazione in generazione, preservate intatte dall'isolamento delle montagne. Con l'obiettivo di assicurarsi la promozione, Lily si avventura nelle zone più isolate delle montagne per raccogliere le canzoni e si ritrova sempre più incantata.
