C'era una truffa a Hollywood (2020)
Max Barber è un produttore cinematografico hollywoodiano di pellicole di serie B. Dopo l'esito fallimentare del suo ultimo film, ha un debito corposo con il capo della mafia locale. Pertanto, decide di intraprendere un nuovo progetto per la produzione di una pellicola con scene d'azione ad alto rischio con l'obiettivo di causare la morte dell'attore principale e intascarne l'assicurazione. Duke Montana, una vecchia star depressa che s'è data all'alcol, è l'attore ideale per portare a termine la truffa. Tuttavia, il piano di Max fatica a concretizzarsi: Duke riesce a sopravvivere scena dopo scena.
